Artist of the week..

Rachael Mckenna - http://rachaelmckennaphotography.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/french-cat.html

There are countless ways to escape the never ending flow of your mind, like in a book of photographs. One I came around recently was that of one Rachael Mckenna called “The French Cat” set in a beautiful village in France the backdrop couldn’t conjure a more longing feeling if it tried. If you like cats, photography, old architecture or just France then find this book. There just has to be some escape, and it’s never as humbling when it’s from one living her dream.

An incredibly talented concept artist for Disney Animation, her drawings could make one fall in love with just a glance. I’d look her up if I were you.

The feeling..

The warlocks potion was not harsh, neither was it soft. It simply found assertiveness and pushed it down to rest. Before all substance of life was lost, she felt his hand touch her cheek. In a second of last strengths, she opened her eyes once to look at his. She did not blink, for once her eyes would close she wouldn’t be able to open them again. Her mind did not spin, now it danced. Her last comprehensible thought was about his face, and how she wish she could tell him how different he looked.

The feeling..This room always showed me of that power only the earth would have. This small detail of the world in one tiny, insignificant space, which hardly anyone knew about. A decoration of its own design. I selfishly feel like the vines reaching for the brightness. Growing still.Source: http://keziamari.tumblr.com/post/13732014840/ficus-carica-the-plants-makes-a-breathtaking

The feeling..

You could call them sisters, the four of them. they weren’t born like we were though, they were born as no one else had been. History tells the first was born the most hypnotizing bird in all the forests, never able to fly and at times envious of her sisters. The second was famously known for being the tallest, said to be born as a rose that never stopped growing. The third sister was the moon the stars and the sky at midnight, untouchable and forever glowing. The only way of describing the last sister is if you have ever felt like nothing would be okay, like you would remain empty of mistakes, love or joy.. but suddenly snow would fall around you, as if to freeze you in time but also show the constant movement of life. She was like that.

All four were in their own ways magnificent. Destined to grow, fly and move skies. Yet they chose to be human and here they remained. Could you imagine having as much purpose as the night sky, then being so limited to one place? So, they influenced what they had. Thus from then on we were given a quarter each from them. This is why we reach for the skies after so long, after so many mistakes, after so much shock.

The feeling.. She left the back castle doors to enter the courtyard, hoping the route she took to leave steered her clear of any wedding planners. The seaside seemed a luxury to be with right now, being inside four walls for too long made them appear too eager to inch in on her.  She opened the small silver gate that led to the path overgrown with weeds, careful not to open it too far for the loud creak to sound and walked until the white sand became clear in the green grass. Once she could see nothing but ocean, her lungs expanded and she felt that she could finally breathe again. Lugging her bag next to her, she began to pull out the gift of flowers and leaves her sister had sent from home. She commanded one at a time into the air and turned them with inspection, and when she found the ones she loved most they would slowly turn into shining beads.PHOTO - Chanel Haute Couture F/W 2006/07
